Laptop Liquid Damage Repair
Spilled liquid on your laptop?
Whether it’s water, coffee, tea, soft drinks or another liquid, act quickly if your laptop gets wet.
Liquid can travel inside a laptop and reach sensitive electronic components, including the motherboard. The longer it remains inside, the greater the potential for corrosion, short circuits and permanent damage.
What should you do?
- Switch the laptop off immediately if it is still running.
- Disconnect the charger and any other connected cables.
- Do not attempt to turn it back on to see if it still works.
- Get the laptop assessed by a professional as soon as possible, even if it seems to be working.
- Get a professional to clean affected components to ensure no long term issues. Don’t clean it yourself as the affected area is usually localised and being unable to locate the damage reduces the chance of a successful repair.
Don’t assume a liquid-damaged laptop is beyond repair.
Liquid damage doesn’t necessarily mean your laptop needs to be replaced. The extent of the damage will depend on where the liquid has reached and how long it has been present.
We can assess the laptop and determine whether the damage is repairable, including checking the motherboard and other affected components.
If you’ve spilled liquid on your laptop, don’t wait and hope it starts working again. The sooner it is assessed, the more options there may be.
“I can’t recommend Adam enough! He revived my laptop after I fried it by spilling a beer all over it. Motherboard level repair was required, but it was done fast, and most importantly – everything works like nothing happened. Also a very reasonable price considering the only other option in that case was buying a new laptop 😉 Thanks a lot for the great service.”
