Specialist repairs for gaming laptops and high performance hardware

Why replace your laptop if it can be repaired?

A gaming laptop is more than a computer. It’s your gaming setup, your connection to your team and, for many players, a serious investment. So when your laptop starts overheating, crashes mid-game, loses its display or refuses to power on, you need more than guesswork.

At Laptop Specialists, we investigate laptop hardware faults and specialise in component level motherboard repairs. Our aim is to identify the underlying problem and find a practical repair wherever possible, rather than immediately recommending an expensive replacement.

With free UK wide collection for eligible repair bookings, specialist diagnosis and clear quotations, getting help doesn’t have to mean travelling to a repair shop.

Gaming Laptop Problems We Investigate

  • Laptop overheating and thermal problems

Excessive heat, sudden shutdowns and performance drops can have several causes. We can investigate cooling related and hardware faults to help identify what’s affecting your system.

  • Black screen or no display

If your laptop powers on but displays nothing, or the screen cuts out unexpectedly, the problem could involve the display, power circuitry or motherboard.

  • Motherboard and power failures

A gaming laptop that won’t switch on, repeatedly shuts down or has suffered an electrical fault may need specialist board level diagnosis. We examine whether a component level repair is possible.

  • Graphics related faults

Display artefacts, crashes and other graphics related symptoms can have multiple causes. We can investigate relevant hardware faults and advise whether a repair is feasible.

  • Liquid damage

Accidents happen. If a drink has been spilled on your gaming laptop, disconnect the power if safe to do so and don’t attempt to switch it back on.

  • Charging and intermittent faults

Charging problems, unexpected power loss and faults that appear only under certain conditions can be difficult to diagnose.

Laptop Repairs in Three Easy Steps

1. Book your collection

Complete our online booking form and arrange free UK wide collection. Pack your laptop securely and tell us as much as you can about the fault.

2. We diagnose the problem

We will examine your laptop and explain the recommended repair. You’ll receive a quotation so you can decide whether to proceed.

3. Get your laptop back

Once the repair is complete, we arrange its return. We’ll keep you informed throughout the process.

If you decide not to proceed with a quoted repair, a diagnostic fee and return delivery charge may apply.

Specialist Repairs Before Expensive Replacements

Gaming laptops can contain complex, tightly integrated hardware. Replacing an entire motherboard can be expensive, and replacement parts are not always readily available. Our component-level repair expertise allows us to investigate faults beyond simply swapping parts. Where practical, repairing an individual component can be a cost-effective alternative to replacing a complete board.

Gaming Laptop Brands

We work with a range of laptop manufacturers, including ASUS, Alienware, Dell, HP, Lenovo and other brands. Have an ASUS ROG, Alienware, Lenovo Legion, MSI or another performance laptop? Contact us with the exact model and a description of the problem so we can discuss your repair.

“Great service from Adam at Laptop Specialists. Really responsive, kept me updated at every step, and went above and beyond on a tricky GPU fault. He tested it thoroughly, explained exactly what was wrong and even sent video proof of what he found. Fair price for the amount of work he put in. Would highly recommend.”
